    SUMMARY

IP Australia is a leader in incubating digital access to its services and is representative of the changes coming to national offices. It has undergone significant change, moving from 12% digital uptake in 2014 to 99.6% of customers interacting digitally, and are working on how to transform their digital business model to deliver world leading digital IP services that are simple, innovative, and efficient.

Damian Giuffre, Chief Digital Officer of IP Australia, will be joined by Paul Davis and Paul Thompson, Directors of Real-Time IP, to outline:

    • The nature of these leading-edge developments,
    • The opportunities they provide for early-adopters, and
    • The challenges they will present to inflexible traditional practice.

    BIOGRAPHY

Damian Giuffre is passionate about delivering innovative customer solutions and leading transformational change in the public sector. As Chief Digital Officer in IP Australia’s Innovation and Technology Group, he is responsible for customer facing systems and is leading the strategic redevelopment of key digital assets and channels. With more than a decade’s experience in the Intellectual Property domain, Damian has significant public sector leadership experience across digital operations, business transformation and technology delivery.

Paul Davis and Paul Thompson are Australian and New Zealand patent attorneys who have been in practice for over 20 years.  They were equity holders in Fisher Adams Kelly.  During that time, they became convinced that changes occurring in professional practice and office processes provided opportunities for automated efficiencies.  They have spent the last 18 months with colleagues in Real-Time IP Pty Ltd developing a platform to facilitate filing and prosecution in Australia, as an initial jurisdiction.  This development has occurred with the cooperation and assistance of officers of IP Australia.
